Zara Neukom

Registered Clinical Counsellor

Zara's Story

Zara is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Additionally, she holds a diploma in Human Kinetics and a BSc in Food, Nutrition and Health. Zara's lived experience and academic background inform how she approaches the therapeutic space; and she believes that healing means accessing and deepening the connection between body, mind, and spirit.

Zara’s approach and training is grounded in therapeutic frameworks such as accelerated experiential and dynamic psychotherapy, internal family systems, emotion-focused therapy, emotion-focused family therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, epigenetics, and research on intergenerational trauma, as well as somatic and mindfulness-based modalities. Zara’s process is fundamentally relational, trauma-informed, body-oriented and experiential.

Zara is a student of humanness: the messy, mundane, ineffable and extraordinary. She became a therapist to walk beside her clients as they connect to their inner wisdom, integrate life experiences and find purpose and meaning. She is looking forward to being with you on your journey of self-discovery.
